The Battista Roasting company was created by a small entrepreneur called Giuseppe Battista, who set up in business in Triggiano, his hometown, together with his wife. It was 1940 and the company was involved in the production and sale of raw coffee, yet after the war, the entrepreneur bought a wooden 5 kg "roaster"and started roasting his first coffee beans. This activity is actually an art for those working in this field. The roasting of coffee beans is the most difficult and decisive activity for coffee producers. The beans need to be roasted at the right temperature and for the necessary time; not one degree more, not one second less, and it takes all the knowledge and expertise of a great craftsman like Giuseppe Battista to perform this operation. Very soon the entrepreneur achieved successful results, increasing the number of customers as well as production. The old roaster was replaced by a modern and efficient machine. The small roasting company started changing, Giuseppe worked harder to constantly improve the quality of his products and offer always tastier and more refined blends. Giuseppe has now retired, leaving the company to his family, to the son Michele and grandsons Giuseppe and Mirko, in order to enjoy a pleasant and peaceful old age.
